A bustling holiday season š
Itās never a dull moment in NYC, especially when tourists (and Santas, for one dreaded day!) flock to midtown to take in the sights and shows. Bryant Parkās winter village might be my favoriteā¦ and fun fact: did you know that the crystal ball that ādropsā on NYE in Times Square actually very slowly rises to the top of its pole over the course of the year?
Anyway, itās a busy time of year for me, too. Earlier this month, we learned and performed some beautiful arrangements for Hanukkah at Congregation Shearith Israel. One was a deceptively hard but stunning arrangement of Psalm 23, by our own maestro Leon Hyman. I find myself humming it from time to time.
Next week, Iām singing with the Brooklyn Harmonics in our first public concert, backed by the talented Bryan Carter and the Young Swangers. Itās not to be missed. Iāve loved singing with these 8 phenoms, and I canāt wait for friends and family to see us for the first time. Hopefully we can record a killer album sometime soonā¦
Iāll be almost as busy as Santa on Christmas Eve, with two back to back church services. One at Broadway Presbyterian, where Iām thrilled to sing with Djordje Nesic at the keys. The next at St. Lukeās Episcopal in Forest Hills, under the amazing Bill Stokes and in one of my favorite little churches in the world. Canāt wait!
