Wrapping Up a Year in New York
After a year of singing professionally in NYC, I’m headed home for a restful summer before beginning music school. Professional highlights from this year included Carnegie Hall and PBS debuts! Here are a few of my favorite professional experiences from this past year.
OPERA & CONCERT
Roberto Devereux
Opera Orchestra of New York, Carnegie Hall
My Carnegie Hall debut! A once-in-a-lifetime concert performance starring Mariella Devia. Directed by Eve Queler. Here are a few reviews from The New York Times and Opera News.
Richard Tucker Gala
New York Choral Society, Avery Fisher Hall
My Avery Fisher Hall debut! Huge opera stars directed by Maestro Emmanuel Villaume. See the entire concert at www.PBS.org by clicking here.
Natoma
Concert Reading, Victor Herbert Society
Directed by Gerald Steichen. What a delight to sing with fellow Yalies Daniel Egan and Kate Moore Heaney!
“The Secret Song”
Presented by The Secret Opera
A concert for winners of international composer's competition for chamber music for voice. How exciting to work with living composers whose pieces bear especially timely and relevant meaning. My fellow musicians were the cream of the crop of New York’s emerging young opera singers and instrumentalists.
CHURCH & SYNAGOGUE
Christ Church Cobble Hill
Cobble Hill, Brooklyn
A delightful community to work for. We had some great concert performances, too, including my first concert performance as tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah. Directed by Don Barnum.
The Church of St. Agnes
Midtown, Manhattan
Directed by Don Barnum.
Congregation Shearith Israel
Upper West Side, Manhattan
I was a sub at this beautiful Sephardic synagogue just a few blocks north of my apartment. Directed by Leon Hyman.
